I’m an experienced Layout Artist, driven by both creativity and technical excellence, with a true passion for compelling storytelling. Born and raised in Mexico, with 9+ years of experience in the 3D Animation Industry, I’m currently working as Rough Layout Lead at Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver, Canada.
I have studied a BA in Digital Cinema and Animation at the University of Advanced Technologies (UNIAT) in Guadalajara, Mexico, a Previsualization and Animatics course at Gnomon School of Visual Effects, Games + Animation in Los Angeles, USA, an online Pre-Visualization course at iAnimate.net and an online Unreal Fellowship: Worldbuilding program from Epic Games.
I have worked on various projects, from TV shows to movies, for different companies in Mexico and Canada. I have held different roles, from Previs and Layout Artist to Layout Lead with a team of 21 artists, as well as Cinematographer and Layout Supervisor for a multi-award-winning 3D Animated Short Film. Some of the outstanding movies I’ve worked on are: “Hotel Transylvania 3”, “Smallfoot”, “The Angry Birds Movie 2”, “The Mitchells vs. the Machines”, “Vivo” and “Hotel Transylvania: Transformania”.
